Origin RX Kids Head Coach and CrossFit Head Coach

I'm Diane Mack and run the Origin RX Kids program and Head Coach here at Origin Fitness. My CrossFit journey began five years ago when my husband offered it up as an alternative to my DVD living room workouts that I had been doing for seven years during my kids’ nap time. Having been a competitive athlete for the majority of my life I was hooked instantly by CrossFit. It provided an endless bounty of new challenges, a competitive and encouraging environment, coaches to motivate and instruct, and most importantly a community of like minded people to share in the process. My background in education and coaching soccer made the transition to coaching CrossFit a natural one. I love being able to work with and learn from others who are passionate about sharing their love for fitness and healthy living. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to continue to grow as a coach, an athlete, and a person here at Origin Fitness and pass that knowledge along to our amazing community of athletes.

  • What’s your biggest contribution as a Coach?

    My biggest contribution as a coach is being able to meet an athlete at their skill and fitness level to help them accomplish their fitness goals and push them towards ones they did not believe they could achieve.

  • What brought you to coaching?

    Coaching allows me to bring together my passions for teaching, sport, and fitness. I consider myself extremely lucky that here at Origin Fitness I get to work with everyone from Masters athletes to our youngest members of the Origin RX Kids program.

    Hang cleans!

  • Least favorite movement or workout?

    Toes to bar

  • What do you like to do outside of Origin Fitness?

    Spending time with my family. They are my favorite people to be around. If I find myself with some alone time, I love to read a good book.

  • Advice for someone starting or wanting to start CrossFit or exercise?

    Take the time to really learn the fundamentals. It will pay dividends in the short and long term.

    What do you get when you cross a pig with a frog? A ham-phibian.
