Head Coach

My name is Nikki Coletta, I am a Head Coach at Origin Fitness. By the time I was 10 I had 3 open heart surgeries. At a young age I knew what it was like to have to work hard and be healthy. I struggled a lot and was small but I loved sports. When I got well enough to play I didn’t care how small or sick or whether I was in first or last as long as I was in the Arena. As I grew into a healthy adult, I played Soccer, ran Track, studied Kung Fu and then one day 10 years ago I walked into a park in Los Angeles, CA and joined CrossFit Hollywood. CrossFit has changed my life considerably. It helped me break through a lot of self-doubt because of how I started out in life. I was never really aware of what my body and mind could actually accomplish because I was always told to be careful or that I couldn’t do it. After a few years of training in CrossFit, I decided I wanted to help others do the same so I enrolled in the CrossFit L1 course and the rest is history. I have been training for 10 years, and coaching for 6. In the spring of 2017 I moved back to the East coast and joined Origin Fitness. I could not be happier to be a part of an amazing community and kick ass coaches.

  • What’s your biggest contribution as a Coach?

    I love that I can help people see that no matter what the obstacle is in front of them there is always a way around it, through it or over it. Anything is possible if you are willing to take that chance on yourself as I did many years ago.

  • What brought you to Coaching?

    As a young kid in heart failure, I had to beat the odds and I did. However, I feel I realized this later in life. There is no telling what I could have accomplished had I met someone sooner that would open my mind up to the possibility of what I could actually achieve. I want to help people see that they too can beat the odds.

  • Favorite movement or workout?

    Favorite workout is Diane! Favorite movement is Handstand Pushups, Toes to Bar, Ring Muscle Ups

  • Least favorite movement or workout?

    Least Favorite movement: Given my 4’11 frame this is a no brainer: WALL BALLS and ROWING! Least Favorite workout: Hmmm… KAREN! 150 wall balls for time!

  • What do you like to do outside of Origin Fitness?

    I like to take long walks/runs with my pup. I am an artist and will draw, paint and create whenever I have the time.

  • Advice for someone starting or wanting to start exercise or CrossFit.

    CrossFit is not easy by all means but everyone starts in the same place. You work your way up and you learn to do things that you never thought possible. If I was to give advice, I would say take the time to get to learn the technique, the position and the movement. Enjoy the process and be patient with yourself. It is an incredible journey.
